Personalized HANGING TOWELS... with your MESSAGE!
How is that done? Purchase "transparency film" and "Techni-print" transfer paper for your laser or ink-jet printer. You will need an iron (heated to 450 degrees) or a very hot flat-iron.
1.) Type your message (no more than 8 inches long) one or two times at the top of your computer screen and print it to the transparency film.
2.) Turn that image over and copy that reverse image onto transfer paper.
3.) Cut your message 1/2" high up to 8" wide and center on the hem of the towel.
4.) Use your iron to transfer your message to the towel and peel the paper off when cool.
NOTE: Gently wash with mild soap.
Welcome visitors to my webpage.
Now that I've told you how I make the label, here is my unique detailed pattern of how I crochet the towel so that you may see all that is involved in what I do...
PERHAPS TRY IT YOURSELF?
Dollar Tree stores have kitchen towels with a hem; NOT micro-fiber.
Red Heart yarn in "Corn Meal Maise Marina" or white is used on the towels where one
skein makes 12 towels with a size 4.25 mm crochet hook.
Begin by cutting towels in half (same pattern on both) and use my "unique" method for a neater appearance with a hot glue gun and a "tiny hole" hand punch (not a paper punch).
Secure the cut edge with the smallest fold using a hot glue gun. Then slide the hole punch beneath the glued hem and punch 65 holes. (about every 1/4") {Row 2 can adjust +/-}
PATTERN:(Row 1) Cast yarn on front with 65 stitches in the holes, chain 3 and turn. (=65)
(Row 2) {Previous ch3 counts as first double crochet (dc)} followed by dc in next sc stitch across row {+/- stitches as needed}, ch3 turn (= 65)
(Row 3) skip next dc and dc in next sc - repeat across row, ch3 and turn (= 33)
(Row 4) dc across row, ch3 and turn (= 33)
(Rows 5 and 6) Repeat Row 3 for row 5 (= 17), Repeat Row 4 for row 6 (= 17)
(Rows 7 and 8) Repeat Row 3 for row 7 (= 9), Repeat Row 4 for row 8 (= 9)
(Row 9) Repeat Row 3 for 9 (= 5)
(Rows 10 thru 17) Repeat Row 3 for 8 rows (= 5)
(Row 18) Buttonhole row - dc in next dc, ch1, skip dc, dc in last 2 dc
(Row 19) dc across row and FINISH OFF leaving long tail - weave end into yarn.
Glue top edge down to back of towel (hide/glue beginning yarn tail)
Use yellow yarn to tie "jingle bell" on first row of 5 chains and hide tie ends.
Use white yarn to tie lady bug button on towel with lady bug pattern below:
"SMALL or LARGE CAT" or "NO CAT" w/ lady bug button and white yarn
"APPLES" w/ bell button
